POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - On November 14 at 5:30pm in Taylor Hall 203, Rabbi Maurice Moskowitz will deliver his lecture “Allyship as Spiritual Practice.” Balancing solo and communal contributions is complex. This text-based lecture will help frame conversations around allyship as obligation. How can we support visibility and amplify voices appropriately, without taking up space that belongs to others? What does communal responsibility look like when there are so many needs?
Rabbi Maurice "Mike" Moskowitz is an Orthodox rabbi, currently the Scholar-in-Residence for Trans and Queer Jewish Studies at Congregation Beit Simcha Torah, the flagship LGBT temple.
Sponsored by the Jewish Studies Program and the Office of the Dean of Faculty.
