Learn about Vassar’s environmental programs at the Urban Wilderness Fair

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – On September 30th, the Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve is hosting the Urban Wilderness Fair and 5K “Fun Run” at the Vassar Barns. In addition to the 5K run through the farm, the event includes a guided nature walk, an Environmental Fair and ample opportunity to learn about conservation research and outreach at Vassar as well as community environmental organizations. The Collaboratory will be set up with a photo display of native plants and animals by community members and there will be free snacks and refreshments.

All events will take place at the Vassar Farm and Ecological Preserve, beginning at 11:30. The 5K will kick off at 12:15pm with registration opening at 11:45. There is an optional registration fee/donation of $5 to help cover event costs. The guided nature walk will begin at 12:30pm.
