Kiran Desai, Writer-in-Residence and author of The Inheritance of Loss, will read excerpts from her work on Tuesday, April 10 at 6:00pm in Sanders Classroom, Spitzer Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.
Desai is the author of two novels, Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard and The Inheritance of Loss for which she received the Man Booker Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award. Her work has been translated into over 35 languages. She is the recipient of a Guggenheim fellowship, a fellowship from the American Academy in Berlin, and a Columbia University Medal of Excellence. She is currently completing a novel entitled The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny to be published by Knopf.
