$10,000 Challenge Match From Small Group of Community Works Supporters

Giving Tuesday is the movement to inspire charitable giving after Thanksgiving, and the Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping events. A small group of Community Works contributors is kicking off a special challenge tied to this year’s Giving Tuesday: together they will contribute $10,000 if the campaign receives $10,000 in other contributions and pledges over the next week.

So all other giving from now through Monday, December 4 will help Community Works get an extra boost of funds towards its $75,000 goal. Whether you make a pledge now to give through payroll deduction, or you give now via check or credit card, everything that comes in over the next week will count toward reaching the $10,000 match.

For a little added incentive, the Community Works campaign is getting some help from Arlington neighborhood businesses. They are contributing gift certificates that will be entered into a drawing for people who give or pledge to Community Works from now through December 4.  Certificates are in so far from Thai Spice, Elizabeth Boutique, and the Vassar College Store, as well as for two tickets to a Powerhouse Theater main stage performance this coming summer. More is on the way.

You can give or pledge to Community Works online via the campaign website, or use the giving form that was recently mailed out and send it with your contribution or pledge to Community Works, Box 9. Also use the website to learn about the ten important non-profits that the campaign will support in the coming year, all of which were nominated by Vassar employees.
