Pablo Aslan Quintet to perform at Vassar, November 11, 2017

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Argentine bassist and producer Pablo Aslan will perform on Saturday, November 11, 8:00 pm in Skinner Hall’s Martel Recital Hall.  This event is free and open to the public.

Pablo Aslan plays jazz-infused contemporary tango, but sometimes he serves it up straight. He performs with a stellar quintet of New York-based Argentine musicians.  Aslan is in demand for his skills as a producer, bassist, and educator, and for his knowledge of traditional and contemporary tango. His most recent album as a leader is Piazzolla in Brooklyn (Soundbrush Records), a tribute to the late Nuevo Tango master. His previous CD, Tango Grill (Zoho Music), was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best Tango Album and a Grammy for Best Latin Jazz Album.

This event is sponsored by the Music Department.
