POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Poet Kevin Young will deliver the 2017 Elizabeth Bishop Lecture at Vassar on Wednesday, October 4 at 6:00 pm in Sanders Classroom 212, Spitzer Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.

Kevin Young is the new Director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. He is the author of eleven books of poetry and prose, most recently Blue Laws: Selected & Uncollected Poems 1995-2015 (Knopf, 2016), longlisted for the National Book Award. Young will be Poetry Editor of the New Yorker starting in November 2017.

The 2017 Elizabeth Bishop Lecture is made possible through the gift of Priscilla H. Rockwell and H.P. Davis Rockwell and the English Department.
