The second phase of our Banner replacement project is reaching an important milestone. On July 1, Workday Finance will “go-live” and Vassar will conduct all fiscal year 2018 activity and beyond within our Workday system. Workday financial functions available beginning July 1 include procurement, travel expense tracking, grants, endowments, accounting, and P-Card/C-Card management.
While July 1 marks the launch of our Workday Finance functionality, there are further steps to come. Some historical data, budget data, and reporting capacities within Workday will be rolled out over the summer and into the fall semester. Also, because of the complexity of the Workday implementation and the need to integrate Workday with other systems on campus, there is the chance of finding errors or missed items after the system is launched, despite extensive and detailed testing that has already taken place. Changes to the system that are found to be necessary as a result of errors or omissions will be made as quickly as possible. If you need to report a Workday issue or have questions, email the CIS Service Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org, submit a request, or call 845-437-7224 (x7224) during normal business hours.
Many of you have already attended training on Workday Finance. If not, we urge year-round employees and those administering summer programs to attend training as soon as possible. You can sign up online at http://workdayinfo.vassar.edu/schedule/. A second round of training sessions will begin in August and continue into the academic year for employees away during the summer break. Training materials are also available from the Workday Info website.
Implementing Workday is a highly complex task which required over a year of intense work by a team of extremely committed Vassar colleagues. We greatly appreciate all the time and effort they have put into this project and thank you for your continued patience as Vassar makes this transition from Banner to Workday.
