A message from Interim President Chenette regarding the passing of biology professor Marshall Pregnall
It is with deep sadness that I write to inform you of the death of A. Marshall Pregnall, Professor of Biology, on October 22, 2016, at his home in Poughkeepsie.
Professor Pregnall joined the faculty of the Department of Biology in 1986. In addition to serving as Chair of Biology, he also taught in and provided leadership for the Environmental Studies Program, and served in numerous campus-wide positions of leadership. Marshall was well-known for involving many students in his research, studying signature organisms in aquatic ecosystems. He will be dearly missed.
A memorial celebration of Marshall’s life will take place on November 5th at 10:00am in the Vassar Chapel. Following the service there will be a reception at Alumnae House.
Please join me in expressing sympathy and support to Marshall’s wife Maribel, his son Drake, and his daughter Hali.
His obituary can be read here.
