Journalist Krista Tippett will give a lecture on "Creating Civility," April 12, 2016

A noted commentator on religion, ethics, and spirituality, Krista Tippett is the award-winning host of public radio’s On Being with Krista Tippett (formerly Speaking of Faith), a weekly radio program carried by more than 300 public radio stations and downloaded by millions as a podcast. She will give a lecture entitled, "Creating Civility," on Tuesday, April 12, 5:30pm, in the Students' Building, 2nd floor (UpC).

Tippett, recipient of the National Humanities Medal, is highly regarded for the insight she brings to interfaith conversations about belief, meaning, ethics, and religion in a climate too often marred by polarization and partisanship. She is the author of Einstein’s God: Conversations About Science and the Human Spirit and Speaking Of Faith. She is currently working on a new book and The Civil Conversations Project (www.civilconversationsproject.org), a public forum providing ideas and tools for healing our fractured civic spaces. Each season, Tippett engages thought leaders who are modeling new kinds of conversation and relationships across important differences. These dialogues are interactive events spanning the media landscape: on the radio, via podcast, and online through social media and live streaming.

This event is sponsored by the Dialogue and Engagement Across Differences Fund.
