Media icon Arianna Huffington to deliver the address at the 151st Vassar College Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 31, 2015

Arianna Huffington, the groundbreaking chair, president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, will deliver the address at the 151st Vassar College Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 31, 2015. The commencement program will begin at the campus Outdoor Amphitheater at 10:00am.

Huffington launched her upstart media outlet in 2005 and it quickly became one of the most widely-read, linked to, and cited media brands online. According to comScore, The Huffington Post now has a total digital audience of 214 million unique visitors per month. In 2012, the site was awarded the first-ever Pulitzer Prize for an online news outlet, honoring David Wood’s ten-part series, “Beyond the Battlefield,” on the physical and emotional challenges soldiers encounter after returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

“We are thrilled to have Arianna Huffington as this year’s commencement speaker,” said President Catharine Bond Hill. “Not only has she been a trailblazer in the realm of online news, she also brings a fresh perspective to defining success in life that will undoubtedly result in a memorable address.”

Among many accolades, Huffington has been named to the Time magazine list of the world’s 100 most influential people and the Forbeslist of “Most Powerful Women.” She is also the author of 14 books, most recently Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and WonderThrive debuted at #1 on The New York Times bestseller list in 2014.  Born in Greece, Huffington moved to England at age 16 and graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in economics.
