Advisory: City of Poughkeepsie issues boil water advisory; town and campus water safe

Update July 16, 2013: City of Poughkeepsie has lifted the boil water notice.

July 12, 2013

The City of Poughkeepsie has advised all residents using the city water system to boil water until further notice because of unsafe bacteria levels found in the water.

Water from the Town of Poughkeepsie system, which serves the Vassar campus, has been found to be safe, according to sources today, including Town Supervisor Todd Tancredi.

Since a number of our employees live in the city and other community members may go into the city for various reasons, we wanted to distribute this information and a link to the Poughkeepsie Journal article.

Thank you.
