Scholar and social activist Barbara Ransby will present a lecture on social justice and freedom-making in the 21st Century Sept. 13 in the Villard Room in Main Building on the Vassar campus.

University of Illinois-Chicago Prof. Barbara Ransby will deliver a lecture on social justice Sept. 13 on the Vassar College campus. The event, part of Vassar’s “Social Justice in Question” series, will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Villard Room on the second floor of Main Building. The event is sponsored by the Dean of Faculty, and the public is invited to attend.

Fusing cutting-edge science and age-old puppetry, DIRT takes audiences on an extravagant journey of discovery into the Great Underneath—opening the curtain on the epic alchemy of plants, the fungi’s dance of mutual delight, and the microbes’ herculean labors. Featuring live music and a myriad of puppets ranging from 12" to 12' tall, the show reminds earthly residents of all ages quintessential truths from the ground beneath their feet.
