The author of Capital City: Gentrification and the Real Estate State (Verso 2019), Samuel Stein is an urban geographer now completing his Ph.D. at the CUNY Graduate Center. He has taught at Hunter College, Sarah Lawrence College, John Jay College, and The Murphy Institute. Stein has published on planning politics in the Journal of Urban Affairs, Metropolitics, Jacobin, and other magazines and journals.
