Endangered Life in Distant Terrains -Works by world-renowned wildlife photographer and Chinese environmental activist, Xi Zhinong (奚志农)
The wild world of Asia is in distress- most of the animal and plant species in the exhibition are endangered due to habitat destruction and poaching. These rare photos illuminate their beauty and their magnificent surrounding in China- the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the adjacent area- historically among the worlds’ least inhibited and most inaccessible terrains.
Xi Zhinong (奚志农) was selected in 2010 as one of the worlds’ 40 most influential natural photographers by the British Outdoor Photography Magazine and was the first Chinese wildlife photographer to win awards in annual wildlife photo competitions. Mr. Xi is also well known for his decades-long activism in environmental conservation in China, as his photos and reports catalyzed nationwide social movements to protect Guizhou Golden Monkey, Tibetan Antelope, and Yunnan Green Peacock habitats. He is the founder of Wild China, an NGO, and a youth training camp of wildlife photography.
