Landing a job is exciting, but understanding the terms and conditions of a job offer can be stressful. Written job offers often include confusing terms like "at will employment." Offers will ask you to review and make decisions about the organization's offerings for retirement and health insurance plans, which may be unfamiliar to many students. Susan Smith, Associate Director of Employer Relations with the Career Development Office, and Leslie Power, Manager of Benefit Programs from Human Resources of Vassar College, will guide you through the steps of understanding and negotiating a job offer and the benefits that come with it.
