Contemporary Native American Artwork from the Edward J. Guarino Collection
This fall Vassar College’s Palmer Gallery will be the site for a unique display of Indigenous peoples’ art. From her working relationship with collector Edward Guarino, Associate Professor of Native American Studies Molly McGlennen has developed and is currently teaching a course that explores decolonizing approaches to the study and presentation of an array of contemporary Native American works from Guarino’s collection. The course will culminate in “Decolonizing the Exhibition: Imagining Indigenous Futures,” a student-curated exhibition running from November 29-December 20, 2018.
