Soferet Julie Seltzer will be giving three lectures on December 3, 4, & 5, exploring authority, gender, and ritual calligraphy through the lens of her own experience as a female Torah scribe. Seltzer is a feminist trailblazer and one of the first women known to write a Torah. She was the 2017-2018 Scholar in Residence at Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, the flagship LGBTQ congregation in NYC.
