As part of the annual Dr. Maurice Sitomer Lecture series, Rabbi Mike Moskowitz will give a talk on allyship as a spiritual practice within the framework of Judaism.

At a time when people who are transgender are under increasing discrimination the call for allyship has never been louder. What practical advice does the Jewish tradition offer us to be supportive of the trans experience in our community? This text based lecture will explore a Talmudic approach to prioritizing solo and communal obligations, as a way to think about allyship as spiritual practice.

Rabbi Mike Moskowitz is an orthodox rabbi, currently the Scholar-in-Residence for Trans and Queer Jewish Studies at Congregation Beit Simchat Torah
