A Map of Virtue by Erin Courtney is a show driven not by plot, but by symmetry and by character and by grit. It tells the story of Mark and Sarah, who keep meeting under unusual circumstances, drawn together by a small bird statue. That same bird statue is our narrator for the piece, guiding us through the play's seven virtues into the middle of the night, where "bad things sometimes happen." Part interview, part comedy, part middle-night-middle-forest horror story, the play stretches time and silence as our characters try to cope with what they experience in the dark.
