Martin Klimke (NYU Abu Dhabi), will present a lecture “Tearing Down Walls, Building Bridges: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,' Visit to Cold War Berlin”

Dr. Klimke is Associate Dean at NYU Abu Dhabi and the author of numerous books about transnational protest movements, processes of cultural transfer, and global networks of dissent. He also co-authored, together with Vassar professor Maria Hoehn, "A Breath of Freedom. African American GIs, the Civil Rights Struggle and Germany".

Poet Gold, Dutchess County Poet Laureate will recite a poem that she has written for this occasion.
