The acclaimed Belgian vocal ensemble Vox Luminis teams up with Juilliard415 for a concert of music written by the young Handel, who took Rome by storm in the early
1700s. Known in Italy as il caro Sassone (the dear Saxon), Handel beguiled audiences with his inventive take on Italianate traditions. This program includes two of Handel’s most virtuosic works for choir, soloists, and orchestra, Nisi dominus and Dixit Dominus as well as the Concerto for Violin in B-flat.
