First Comes Love: Portraits of Enduring LGBTQ Relationships is an exhibition of photographs and love stories that celebrates the lives and enduring relationships of LGBTQ couples from across the U.S.

The brainchild of Philadelphia photographer Barbara Proud (aka B. Proud) is just one element of the First Comes Love Project, a travelling exhibition of photographs, love stories and video interviews of LGBTQ couples who have been together for 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50+ years.

Changing laws does not lead to acceptance. LGBTQ couples continue to face discrimination based on myths, prejudice, and popular misconceptions.
First Comes Love seeks to change attitudes and open hearts simply by introducing and sharing love stories of 65 real American long-term couples. By doing so, Proud hopes to educate those outside of the LGBTQ community, while celebrating those who are a part.

Gallery Reception: February 1, 2018 at 5pm.
