"Framing the Immediate Present and Other Impossibilities". Artist, Dawn Clements will speak about her work.

Dawn Clements works primarily on paper from the spaces of her immediate (often domestic) environment and from visual passages of film and video. She received her A.B. from Brown University and her M.F.A. from The University at Albany (SUNY).

She has exhibited her work at Pierogi Gallery; James Barron Art (Kent, CT); John Davis Gallery (Hudson, NY); Acme Gallery (Los Angeles, CA); Hales Gallery (London, England); Allcott Gallery (University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC) and the Middlebury College Museum of Art (Middlebury, VT). Her work was included in the 2010 Whitney Biennial (Whitney Museum of American Art); in exhibitions at Kunsthalle Wien (Vienna, Austria); Saatchi Gallery (London, England); Sheldon Museum (Lincoln, NE); Weatherspoon Art Museum (Greensboro, NC); Arkansas Art Center (Little Rock, AR) and other galleries and museums.

She is the recipient of grants and fellowships from the National Academy of Design (Affiliated Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome); the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo; Joan Mitchell Foundation ; Civitella Ranieri; Guggenheim Foundation; the New York Foundation for the Arts; Bohen Foundation and Arts Matters (Rockefeller Foundation); Sint Trudo Abdij (Maele, Belgium); Middlebury College (Middlebury, VT); The Taft School (Watertown, CT); and Farpath Residency (Dijon, France).

Her artwork is represented by Pierogi Gallery (NY, NY) and is included in collections of the Museum of Modern Art (NY, NY); Whitney Museum of American Art (NY, NY); Saatchi Gallery (London); Brown University (Providence, RI); Tang Museum (Saratoga Springs, NY), Princeton University Art Museum (Princeton, NJ); Henry Art Gallery (Seattle, WA) and other public and private collections.

Ms. Clements is an Assistant Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design, (Providence, RI).
