Annual Gandhi Birthday Commemoration. Bala Devi Chandrashekar from Princeton University will be performing a dance titled "Sacred Dance." She will perform components of pure dance, representational dance and art of communication. There will be special references from the oldest treatise on dance and drama - Natya Shastra and allied texts. She will also connect the movement technique to ancient temple sculptures. The performance will tie in all allied subjects such as religion and philosophy, art history, music, cultural anthropology, dance and drama.
