7:00 pmEiko Koma Performance

Twenty-five years ago, Eiko & Koma's groundbreaking duet, "Grain," gave visceral shape to the pain of hunger. A generation later, joined by young Cambodian painters-turned-performers Charian and Peace, their collaboration has expanded into an intimate dance tribe and "Grain" has grown into a full-evening work that explores hunger as the desire for life itself. The evening incorporates Japanese, Tibetan and Indonesian folk music as well as live painting. Lighting design is by David Ferri. Funding credits: Hunger is a Joyce Theater 25th anniversary commission. Co-commissioned by the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis. Produced by Inta, Inc. in association with Asia Society. Auspices: The Department of Dance, The Jeanne Periolat Czula Endowment, and The Jeanne Periolat Czula Fund. Open to all, seating on a first come, first serve basis. Kenyon Hall, Frances Daly Fergusson Dance Theater
