The Sistah Power! Program is hosting the fourth "We Play Drums Celebration" tonight. The celebration makes the conclusion of the spring portion of the Sistah Power! Program. The celebration showcases the African dance and drumming the girls in the program have learned throughout the semester. Started in 2006, the Sistah Power! Program connects Vassar students with young girls who attend elementary and middle schools in the City of Poughkeepsie. The program engages the young girls in activities and programs that assist in building their self-confidence and affirm their identity as young women of color. All are welcome!
