Jeffrey Sachs, director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University, and widely recognized for his work on the Millennium Development Goals as a Special Advisor to the United Nations from 2002-2006.
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — “The focus in this country has not been on the rest of the world,” asserts renowned economist Jeffrey Sachs, director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University. “It’s been on our own small issues and our own problems.” Sachs, who has spent his career trying to refocus our nation’s attention, will discuss the issues and implications of rising global poverty on Thursday, April 24, at 6:00 p.m. in the Vassar Chapel. This event, sponsored by the Vassar student organization Operation Donation, is free and open to the public.
