Ruth Kluger, born in Vienna in 1931, at age 11 deported to Theresienstadt concentration camp, at age 12 moved to Auschwitz, then to a subcamp of Gross-Rosen, called Christianstadt. After fleeing during the chaos of the evacuation of the camps, and following her emigration to the U.S., Kluger studied philosophy, history, English and German literature and became a Professor teaching German literature in Cleveland, Ohio, Kansas, Virginia and at University of California, Irvine. Kluger, professor emerita of German literature, author, and Holocaust survivor will lecture on "The Aftermath: Living with Memories of the Holocaust."
