"Di-ver-si-ty: New Definitions for a New Century." A lecture by Troy Duster, with commentary by Pinar Batur, Associate Professor of Sociology, and Tyrone Simpson, Assistant Professor of English; moderated by Judy "JJ" Jackson, Dean of the College. One of the nation's most prominent sociologists, Duster is a professor in the Department of Sociology and the director of the Institute for the History of the Production of Knowledge at NYU. Author of "Backdoor to Eugenics" and "The Legislation of Morality," he is the coauthor or coeditor of numerous other works, including "Whitewashing Race: The Myth of a Colorblind Society" and "Cultural Perspectives on Biological Knowledge."
