Timothy Oakes, a cultural geographer, and chair of department of geography, University of Colorado, Boulder. "Tourism and Heritage on China?s Frontier: State, Villagers and Commercialization of Ritual." Professor Oakes has been working on China's southwest region for more than a decade and has published extensively on critical examination of the local impact of tourism and culture exoticiation on Chinese minority regions.
