More than 125 works of art by high school students from The Art Institute of Mill Street Loft will be highlighted in the sixth annual "Teen Visions '08" exhibition. The juried show will include paintings, drawings, photography, and sculpture from more than 50 art students who participated in the Art Institute's Summer Intensive and Fall 2007 courses.The students' work will be on display through Saturday, February 9. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Lydia Davis, Writer-in-Residence. An American virtuoso, Davis is an innovator of the short story form. She is the author of four collections of short fiction, including Varieties of Disturbance (2007), Break It Down, Samuel Johnson Is Indignant and a novel, The End of the Story. Davis is also the translator of numerous avant-garde French novels, memoirs, and volumes of literary criticism, including works by Maurice Blanchot, Michel Leiris, and most recently Swann's Way by Marcel Proust, which received the French-American Foundation Annual Translation Prize.

A lecture and discussion of Tibetan Buddhist practices as they can be of use in both daily life and in times of difficulty. Speakers are the Venerable Lama Kalsang Gyaltsen and Reverend Dr. Ani Kunga Chodron from Tsechen Kunchab Ling Temple in Walden, New York. Chai tea will be served at the start of the lecture. "Aelita: Queen of Mars (1924)" 104 min. English subtitles.Moscow of the '20s becomes entangled in a revolution on the Red Planet. This adaptation of Aleksei Tolstoi?s novella is renowned for its futuristic Martian settings. Introductory remarks by Dan Ungurianu and Nikolai Firtich.
