9:00 am"Focus the Nation"

"Focus the Nation" is a day of action and teach-ins on college campuses throughout the country to inspire discussions about global climate change. Vassar has planned panel discussions and presentations to inspire collaborative, interdisciplinary discussions about climate change solutions. Come to the College Center where various organizations will be tabling all day. Sponsored by the Vassar Greens.

11:00 amTeen Visions 2008

More than 125 works of art by high school students from The Art Institute of Mill Street Loft will be highlighted in the sixth annual "Teen Visions '08" exhibition. The juried show will include paintings, drawings, photography, and sculpture from more than 50 art students who participated in the Art Institute's Summer Intensive and Fall 2007 courses.The students' work will be on display through Saturday, February 9. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Noon-1pm: panel discussion in Rockefeller Hall, room 200, about climate change solutions on the local community level.

Keynote speech by Melissa Everret of Sustainable Hudson Valley. "A Road Map for Hudson Valley Climate Action." Everret's presentation will outline the resources and strategies provided by the Municipal Climate Protection Partnership of 12 organizations and state agencies. Sponsored by the Vassar Greens.
