"China and Japan: Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder." Join the adventures of Vassar's students and faculty through their photography and artwork showcasing the China and Japan Summer Study Abroad and JYA programs. Each piece is a testament to the power of the study abroad experience and to the compelling desire to share the fruits of cross-cultural encounters. From engaging photographs of dinner with host families to students' traditional calligraphy, the materials demonstrate fascination with intercultural exchange and invite the viewer to participate in eye-opening journeys of discovery. Through November 27.

an information session about a summer service and travel oppurtunity in Ghana Novemeber 20 in the Faculty Commons at 7pm. This trip will focus on service. We will be teaching at a small school called Heritage Academy. Each of us teachers would be responsible for coming up with lesson plans, classrooms activities, and quizzes or tests. The group will be living within walking distance of the school in Ajumako, a town in the Central Region of Ghana (between Accra and Cape Coast). We'll teach during the week, leaving small trips and exploring for the weekend. We'll visit amazing sites like the Cape Coast slave castle, or the Coconut Grove beach. The trip will be worth one Field Work credit.
