Join the adventures of Vassar's students and faculty through their photography and artwork showcasing the China and Japan Summer Study Abroad and JYA programs. Each piece is a testament to the power of the study abroad experience and to the compelling desire to share the fruits of cross-cultural encounters. From engaging photographs of dinner with host families to students' traditional calligraphy, the materials demonstrate fascination with intercultural exchange and invite the viewer to participate in eye-opening journeys of discovery. Vassar Repertory Dance Theatre presents its final fall showings in three programs. New and reconstructed works will be presented by faculty, student and guest choreographers. Featured guest choreographers include New York City Ballet's Miriam Mahdaviani, returning '04 alumnus Sam Petersson, and seminal choreographer Mark Morris. Faculty choreographers include Jeanne Czula, Steve Rooks, Abby Saxon, VRDT director Paul Mosley, and Kathy Wildberger whose company piece features Professor Jeff Walker and family providing folk dance music in a contra- dance hoedown. Student choreographers include Cameron Lussier, David Rodriguez, Miriam Kies, Marion Spencer, Suzanne Gerdes, Dan Ming, Katie Aspell, and Kaia Ross-Duggan. Reservations are recommended.
